Accessibility Statement

Target: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

1. Our commitment

Noctal is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across every page of this site.

This statement covers the website at noctalj.pro.

2. Conformance target

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. This means we aim to satisfy all Level A and Level AA success criteria. Specific measures we take to meet this standard are listed in the next section.

3. Measures taken

Semantic HTML — pages use appropriate landmarks, headings, lists and native elements (<nav>, <main>, <dialog>, <details>) to convey structure to assistive technologies.
Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, toggles, FAQ items) are reachable and operable using the keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible and meet the 3 px minimum offset recommended for AA.
Colour contrast — text colours have been chosen to achieve a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their backgrounds, meeting the AA threshold for normal text.
Reduced motion — any transition effects respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Content is fully visible and functional without any animation.
Descriptive alt text — all informative images carry meaningful alternative text that describes their relevance to the surrounding content.
Labelled form controls — every form field is associated with a visible or programmatically linked label. Required fields are indicated both visually and in the label text.
No reliance on colour alone — information is not conveyed by colour only; shape, text or position supplements any colour-based distinction.
Scalable text — the layout accommodates text scaling up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where conformance may be partial:

The Google Maps iframe embedded on the homepage is a third-party component. Its internal controls are outside our direct control and may not fully meet Level AA in all browsers and screen-reader combinations.
Some decorative background SVG patterns carry aria-hidden="true" to exclude them from the accessibility tree; if this attribute is stripped in a specific rendering environment, screen readers may announce redundant content.

We are working to address these limitations and will update this statement as improvements are made.
